Copyright Considerations

My music video must not be in breach of any Copyright. The music video belongs to me because I made it with the permission of all of the models involved. The areas where I filmed are public areas and are available to everyone. The song 'Don't Stop by Foster The People does not belong to me but instead belongs to Foster The People and Star Time International. I am in no way affiliated with the record label or band. I have not used any archive footage in my music video from the original 'Don't Stop' music video or anywhere else. I have gained permission from the record label 'Star Time International' to use there song for my music video so I am obeying the copyright laws and not breaching them. Also I needed to ensure the content inside the music video obeys copyright laws. I am not allowed to publish company brands without there permission such as clothes brands. I have taken great care in making sure no company logo's or brands are in my music video.

Notes/Conditions: The stairs in the residence are steep and narrow. It may be dangerous transporting the equipment up and down stairs. Damage could be caused to the crew, cast or equipment.

Potential Hazard

If carrying heavy equipment, a person could fall down the stairs and hurt themselves and others as well as the camera equipment.

What could cause harm?

The injury from falling down stairs or damage to camera equipment.

 

What is the likelihood of this happening?

If one person falls it is likely that the person will collide with others and cause further damage but the event is unlikely to happen.

 

Who or what would be harmed?

Camera may be damaged and so may the carrier and everyone else who was on the stairs.

How much harm?

Depends how the person fell and how other people on the stairs reacted.

How will the risk of this hazard be minimised?

Share the load of carrying equipment up and down the stairs. The people who are carrying the equipment upstairs need to hold the hand rail with one hand and the equipment handle with the other hand.

Potential Hazard

The front garden.

 

What could cause harm?

If it has rained the grass may be damp and slippery, the crew are filming on the grass and it may therefore be dangerous if they slip

What is the likelihood of this happening?

It depends on the weather but unlikely if it is sunny.

Who or what would be harmed?

The person/people on the grass that slip over and anybody else close to the area. The camera may also get damaged.

How much harm?

It would depend what the person fell on when they slipped, it is likely not much damage would occur.

How will the risk of this hazard be minimised?

Only film if it is sunny weather and the grass is dry.

LOCATION ADDRESS: 4 ways bridge, Westbrook.

TYPE OF BUILDING/STRUCTURE/LANDSCAPE:   A bridge which crosses a major road and splits off into 4 directions in the middle.

 

WHY IS THIS LOCATION SUITABLE FOR YOUR PROJECT?: Because we want the lead character and followers to split off into different directions at the end of the music video.

Wind might blow camera off side of bridge.

May be dangerous if people were walking past as the pathways are narrow to hold the crew, equipment and any other passerbyers.

LOCATION: Elliot Tickle’s house

LOCATION ADDRESS: 2 Barford Close

TYPE OF BUILDING/STRUCTURE/LANDSCAPE: Detached house on a quiet close.

 

WHY IS THIS LOCATION SUITABLE FOR YOUR PROJECT? Because we wanted to film the young man waking up and heading out of the door in the morning and dancing down the street to Don’t stop by Foster The People.

People who might impact on or be affected by recording in this location: Nobody as it is a private residence.
Precautions/measures taken to minimise the impact of your recording: Making sure the driveway is clear and to keep a close look out on cars and people going past. If we see them we know they are going to ruin the shot and we will have to reset.

Measurements of space used on location: (Use paces if necessary) 8 ft by 8ft bedroom. 12 ft by 2 ft staircase.

Describe any restrictions/hazards in the immediate vicinity: Stairs might be dangerous to carry equipment up and down.

Where will the crew work on this location? On the stairs and in the bedroom when filming inside the house and on the drive when filming outside the house.

Where will the cast work on this location? On the stairs and in the bedroom when filming inside the house and on the drive when filming outside the house.

Stairs may be difficult to carry equipment up and down due to the fact they are quite steep and the space is very narrow. (about 2 ft.)

Tight space in bedroom with all the furniture already in place.

Filming on the grass outside may be a risk if it is wet and could cause the crew or cast to slip over which could also potentially damage the camera.

 

Describe the aesthetics of the location (e.g. Describe the potential camera shots or describe the acoustic value of the location)     White walls and cream carpet. Clean and furnished looking house. House is a detached house and has a narrow driveway and also has a front garden.

LOCATION: Barford Close

LOCATION ADDRESS: Barford Close

TYPE OF BUILDING/STRUCTURE/LANDSCAPE: A quiet street with detached houses on one side and woodlands with a field behind on the other side.

 

WHY IS THIS LOCATION SUITABLE FOR YOUR PROJECT?: Because we want a man dancing down a quiet street. We do not want to be disturbed while filming as we will be filming on the road.

 

ACCESS
TRANSPORT LINKS TO LOCATION   Roads lead to the close and there is local bus stops nearby.	PHYSICAL ACCESS TO SITE   There is pathways which lead to different directions and different streets.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION
People who might impact on or be affected by recording in this location: People walking or driving past may be caught on camera accidentally. We will need to take precautions to ensure not to film in anybody’s windows.
Precautions/measures taken to minimise the impact of your recording: Watch out for possible oncoming cars and move off the street immediately when they are approaching. Also check the surrounding area to ensure people are not in shot and also do not film in private residences houses.

Where will the cast work on this location? On the road and pavement on the street.

LOCATION: Mary Ann Meadows

LOCATION ADDRESS: Blackshaw Drive, Warringon

TYPE OF BUILDING/STRUCTURE/LANDSCAPE: A large open field with several football pitches on and 2 green cabins.

 

WHY IS THIS LOCATION SUITABLE FOR YOUR PROJECT?: Because we want a crowd of people going through different scenery and their is a narrowing which goes into Woodlands so it is ideal. Also there was no football matches on which made the location ideal for filming.

TRANSPORT LINKS TO LOCATION Car Park nearby.	PHYSICAL ACCESS TO SITE Pathways on field and through woodland. Also small bridge which goes over stream.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION
People who might impact on or be affected by recording in this location: People walking past on pathways or people who may be caught in the shot in the background.
Precautions/measures taken to minimise the impact of your recording: Make sure the background is clear when filming the scenes to ensure nobody is caught in the filming.

Measurements of space used on location: (Use paces if necessary): 4 Football fields for the field and the woodland has a narrow pathway which is approximately 3 metres wide.

Describe any restrictions/hazards in the immediate vicinity: Some ditches on the floor and stones on the field. Also if it has rained, the grass will be damp and may be slippery.

Where will the crew work on this location?   On the field next to the porter cabins, and in several parts of the woodland including the opening from field to woodland, the bridge and the pathway.

Where will the cast work on this location? On the field next to the porter cabins, and in several parts of the woodland including the opening from field to woodland, the bridge and the pathway.
