Personal and Emotional Response:  We the audience are shocked by the controversial clips which happen throughout the music video. The way animals are dying followed by spiritual and religious symbols creates a disturbing for the audience. Som of the writing on the cut aways is disturbing for the viewers.

Mise-En-Scene:

-Settings and Props: The extreme close ups of David Grohl singin is filmed with a white background and old style silver microphone. When the band is singing on top of the building it is dusk, the sky is orange and only the shadows of the band and instruments can be made out.

-Character and Performance: David Grohl is gritting his teeth and getting right up to the microphone cannoting he is passionate about the song he is singing. In the cutaways the emotion of the characters is very sad and depressed.

-Costume, Hair and Make Up: David Grohl and the band is wearing full black clothes, this is a dark colour and is usually stereotyped with death.

-Lighting and Colours: Their are many colours throughout the cut aways in the music video, however a lot of the colours are darker indicating their is a depressing feeling in the music video. When David Grohl is singing the background is a bright white colour and he has a dark beard, the dark on white may indicate life and death.

Diegetic and Non Diegetic Sound: Their is no Digetic sound in the music video just the non-diegetic sound of the song.

Editing: In the first 45 seconds when David Grohl is singing their is no editing however when the song becomes more fast pace the editing is quick and jump cuts are included. Their is also slow motion to capture the detail of the snake attacking which gives emotion.

Camera Work: Their is constant low angle shots of David Grohl when he is singing giving him authority and extreme close ups of his face to capture the emotion. Close ups appear throughout the cut aways to indicate character emotions.
